AstraZeneca en Galderma gaan samenwerken in de strijd tegen dermatologische ziekten

AstraZeneca en Galderma Pharma S.A. (Galderma), een internationaal farmaceutisch bedrijf gespecialiseerd in dermatologie, zijn een samenwerkingsovereenkomst aangegaan voor de ontwikkeling van nieuwe behandelingen van huidkwalen zoals psoriasis, acne en atopische dermatitis. Onder de voorwaarden van de overeenkomst verkrijgt Galderma exclusieve toegang tot een aantal van AstraZeneca’s samenstellingen ter ontwikkeling, toegespitst op dermatologische indicaties.
Initiele doelen voor samenwerking zijn reeds gezet voor medische gebieden zoals oncologie, ontstekingen en het centrale zenuwstelsel. De opzet is, op basis van translationele wetenschap en préklinische testen te bepalen, welke doelen voor verdere samenwerking in aanmerking komen. De financiele voorwaarden van de vijfjarige overeenkomst werden niet bekendgemaakt.

(Galderma), a global speciality pharmaceutical company focused on dermatology, today announced they have entered into a R&D collaboration to develop new treatments for dermatological conditions including psoriasis, acne and atopic dermatitis which significantly affect the health and quality of life for millions of people worldwide.Under the terms of the agreement, Galderma will have exclusive access to a number of compounds from across AstraZeneca’s portfolio to develop in dermatological indications. Initial targets for collaboration have already been identified from disease areas as diverse as oncology, inflammation and central nervous system. These will be interrogated based on translational science and pre-clinical testing to determine the ones that will progress in the collaboration. The financial terms of the five-year agreement were not disclosed.
