The International Educational and Networking Forum for eHealth, Telemedicine and Health ICT
ArrayE-healtrh komt gelukkig meer en meer op de Europese kaart. Op basis van positieve ervaringen in de afgelopen jaren, richten steeds meer commerciële bedrijven zich op de ontwikkeling en verkoop van e-zorg diensten en e-health toepassingen. Het aanbod van deze bedrijven in binnen- en buitenland is explosief groeiend. Marketingstrategieën en -technieken die elders succesvol zijn, blijken in de gezondheidszorg vaak niets uit te maken of zelfs een averechts effect te sorteren. Het International Educational and Networking Forum for eHealth, Telemedicine and Health ICT heeft in 2008 een groot Symposium georganiseerd en zoek nu abstracts voor presentaties en posters. Med-e-Tel focust op e-health en telemedicine toepassingen, een brede verzameling van andere medische ICT toepassingen en de convergentie van ICT met medische toepassingen. Dit alles zou moeten leiden tot een hogere kwaliteit van zorg, vermindering van kosten, efficientere zorgprocessen en grotere beschikbaarheid van diensten.

Dear Colleagues,
You are cordially invited to join us at the Med-e-Tel 2008 and its Educational and Information Program of interactive seminars on eHealth, telemedicine and all possible ICT applications in medicine. Organized by Luxexpo (http://www.medetel.lu/index.php) and supported by wide range of national and international associations and institutions, this three day meeting brings together leading specialists to present recent achievements and developments in the field.
The areas covered but not limited will include:
– Bio-informatics and intelligent clothing
– Cost-benefit studies
– Developing countries and ehealth
– eHealth and transport systems (air, rail, road, sea, space)
– eHealth applications in cardiology, radiology, wound care and other medical disciplines
– eHealth for prison systems
– eHealth strategies for the future
– Electronic health records
– E-Prescription
– E-therapy including e-psychology
– Ethics, laws and reimbursement for eHealth
– Facing threats and disasters
– Home monitoring and homecare applications
– Innovations within eHealth
– Long term data preservation and intelligibility
– Military ehealth
– Nutrition, Drugs and eHealth
– Secure data transmission and of community wide health care records
– Standardization and interoperability
– Telecommunication and wireless technologies for ehealth
– Etc.
Attendees are invited to submit abstracts related to these themes so they may have an opportunity to discuss their own work with leaders in the field. Abstracts will be published on the Med-e-Tel website and in the Med-e-Tel exhibition guide. The Educational and Informational Program takes place in the morning and afternoon during the three exhibition days. Detailed schedule will be available on http://www.medetel.lu/index.php.
Paper submission
The abstract must be prepared according to the guidelines which can be found at http://www.medetel.lu/index.php within month. Authors should submit one page abstract before the deadline, i.e. by January 12th, 2008 by e-mail to Med-e-Tel’s Educational Program Coordinator, Dr. Malina Jordanova at [email protected] and/or [email protected]
Note:
Special registration fee for speakers! Maximum two presentations are allowed per registration fee!
Accepted papers will be published in Med-e-Tel electronic proceeding (CD-ROMs) that will be available at the time of the event. Further information about full text papers will be available on the web within a month. In addition, PowerPoint presentations will also be published on Med-e-Tel website.
