WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
The designers of this hospital had to be on drugs themselves…WHAT Â HUGE WASTE OF SPACE and MISMANAGEMENT of funds.
A large, abstract cement statue in the lobby – for what purpose?
A “running stream” – potential danger to small children, now covered over with wire. Â
Large pieces of round, tempered glass inserted into the floors.
Virtual clocks.
This hospital looks more like a shopping mall/vacation spot.
ABSOLUTELY SHAMEFUL.
WHO are these designers trying to impress?
Whatever happened to FUNCTIONAL design? Utilizing space? Practicality?
Take a pad of paper/pen and walk through Orbis.
Make a list of everything unecessary/non-functional/non-cost effective.
You will be shocked.
I took my son there earlier in May for a minor outpatient operation. We had to go to Urology. While waiting for my son to return, I sat at the only  table in the outer lobby. The lobby itself is very large – and nothing but the receptionist desk and one set of table/chairs are there to fill the space. I could feel the vibrations of people coming up and down the stairs, along with the vibrations created from other areas of the hospital.  The sounds resonated up from the floor, the vibration reached my feet and travelled up the chair and table.
That can’t be a good thing……………
Now, the professional folks and people of  gemeente Sittard could end  up paying the price.  The CZ costs will go through the roof.  Private insurance will go up. You wait and see.
Orbis cannot continue to operate at a loss. Soon Orbis will be sucked into a black hole of financial ruin.
People here in South Limburg already pay outrageous gas taxes: Energy tax and BTW. Almost one half of the yearly payment amount is TAX.Â
Stand in the Orbis lobby and look up.
What do you see?
EMPTINESS.Â
Heat rises.
You do the math….
