    Dear dr. D,

We had contact before, and want to thank you calling me then and for the information you gave me.

As a medical research journalist I am writing a book on the HPV vaccines.
In the Netherlands Cervarix will be offered in the government’s vaccine program starting next September. Vaccination is not being mandated here yet – as it no doubt will be in the EU – yet the emotional blackmail is heavy.

In several of your radio shows I’ve heard you say that you consider the HPV vaccines Gardasil and Cervarix to be ‘live vaccines’.

    How so?

Since in the product insert the genetically manipulated outer surface L1 proteins of HPV 16 and 18 in the vaccines are being described as ‘self assembling’, do I guess correctly that after vaccination these proteins will go on doing just that, and assemble themselves right into the DNA of the recipients?
Is that why you call them ‘live vaccines’?

For in that case the L1 proteins in the HPV vaccines may not be infectious, as Merck and GSK are stressing, they are indeed doing something infinitely more serious!

For my book I need scientific underpinning, and/or quotes from experts… would you elaborate on what you said in your shows?

Onderw:Dr D answers Desiree re HPV vaccines

    Hi Desiree,
Yes, the DNA content inserts into host DNA and is thus live in that sense.  It makes genetically modified hosts.
It is a gene cassette with switching genes that can epigenetically turn on or silence genes inducing infertility, autoimmunity and cancer with abnormal organ development.
